Born and raised in Albuquerque, Perales is earning a degree in business administration with a concentration in general management. During her time at Anderson, she has served in several roles such as a student leader where she provided information and support to fellow business students.

“Whether supporting over 20 student led events each year, conducting resume reviews and mock interviews, or simply being someone students can come to when they don’t know where to start, I’ve been able to contribute in ways I deeply value, and I’ve learned just as much in the process,” said Perales.

Perales also worked as an intern with the Anderson development office where she supported a wide range of development functions. Additionally, she served as a Joint Council representative.

Perales was also the Vice President of Marketing and Outreach for the Association of Latino Professionals for America and the founder and former president for the American Indian Business Association. Additionally, she served as an American Indian Student Services Ambassador.

Outside of UNM, she has worked in five different internships focused on development, fundraising, and business analytics for nonprofit, educational institutions, and corporate organizations in Albuquerque.

After graduation, Perales will be joining the Smithsonian National Museum of American Indian in Washington, D.C., where she will continue to make an impact in her community through special events, business operations, and advancement.
“My time at Anderson has been defined by people who were willing to share what they knew, and I will carry that forward.

That’s the kind of community I’ve experienced here, and the one I am proud to represent,” said Perales.

The Anderson Spring Convocation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 4 p.m. at the University Arena, “The Pit.”
