You can choose between two specialty tracks — Cybersecurity and Business Analytics. Courses are application focused, presenting case studies and examples that introduce the most widely used analytics tools and techniques.
The program is ideal for students with an undergraduate degree in business, accounting, computer science or computer-related engineering, information systems, or information technology.

Online MSCBA Curriculum
The Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics curriculum equips students with the technical expertise and strategic insight needed to lead in today's data-driven, security-focused business environment. Through core coursework in data analytics, information systems security, project management, and database management, students build a solid foundation in both analytical methods and modern cybersecurity practices.
Management courses strengthen their understanding of organizational behavior, operations, finance, marketing, and business strategy. Students then customize their degree through tracks in business analytics or cybersecurity, diving deeper into areas such as data mining, natural language processing, supply chain analytics, digital forensics, network administration, and advanced information systems security. By blending rigorous technical training with essential business leadership skills, the MSCBA curriculum prepares graduates to solve complex organizational challenges and drive innovation across industries.

4+1 Cybersecurity and Business Analytics Degree Program
Pursue the Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics program during your bachelor's degree. You must have a declared business, economics, engineering, computer science, or related technical degree at UNM to apply.
Steps to Apply
- Years 1 - 3: Pursue your undergraduate curriculum at UNM, including General Education requirements and degree requirements. Save 9 credit hours of electives until your final year of study.
- Year 3, second semester: Apply for admission to the MS in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics program for the semester you want to start taking master's coursework. You can begin graduate courses in your final two semesters before graduation, but no earlier. Your cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher at time of application for admission consideration.
- After admission: Fill out the Level Restriction form to access the approved courses, which will be immediately added to your schedule upon approval.
- Year 4: Take 9 credit hours of master's classes for undergraduate electives while finishing your bachelor's degree requirements.
- Year 5: Finish the remaining 24 credit hours of the MS in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics program, or take classes part-time and complete the degree at your own pace.
Admission Requirements
- The Anderson School of Management uses a holistic admissions process. We consider many factors, including GPA, work experience, program alignment and prerequisite coursework to make an admission decision. All applicants are required to demonstrate proof of an earned bachelor's degree prior to applying.
- At least 30 credit hours of undergraduate or graduate courses in management, accounting, information systems, computer science, computer-related engineering or any combination thereof
- Basic programming knowledge is required and must be demonstrated on official transcripts
- Courses at UNM that meet this requirement include MGMT 330, ECE 131L, CS151L, and CS 152L
