Undergraduate Academic Advisement
We believe students have the capacity to make strategic choices and are the drivers of their own success. Our mission is to empower students as they pursue success by providing the necessary resources for them to make informed decisions and provide assistance as they manage their academic and professional careers.
Announcement - Subject Codes and Course Numbers Are Changing
Effective Fall 2026, the Anderson School of Management will be converting their course subject code from MGMT to BUSA, and course numbers will change from 3 digits to 4 digits. For example, MGMT 300 will convert to BUSA 3001 and MGMT 306 will convert to BUSA 3060. This change only affects the subject codes/course numbers; the content of the courses and the major degree requirements are not changing.
The Summer and Fall 2026 class schedules will be posted on 3/23/2026, and registration for both Summer and Fall opens the week of 4/6/2026. Please note that the Summer schedule will list Anderson courses as MGMT, but the Fall schedule will list Anderson courses as BUSA. Please see this conversion list of all Anderson undergraduate courses.
Please work closely with your advisor to make sure you are registering for the correct courses, and not accidentally registering for a course you have already completed.

Holds
Holds are designed to help you navigate your degree program. Holds placed on your account will affect your registration. Here are some common holds from Anderson Advisement and how to get them resolved.
New Transfer Check-In
All new transfer students will receive this hold during their first semester (day 28 of each fall/spring semester) at UNM – Anderson School of Management. The New Transfer Student Check-In hold is intended to help transfer students prepare for their second semester by meeting with their advisor to go over deadlines, review degree requirements, course planning, understanding the LoboTrax Degree Audit and utilizing other tools and resources.
Removal: Meet with an advisor by making an appointment through Student Hub or attending drop-in hours.
Degree Progress Check
Students receive a Degree Progress Check hold each semester (day 28 each fall/spring semester) if they have not completed Phase I requirements and have sixty (60) or more earned credit hours and have not yet been admitted to Anderson. Advisors will review your LoboTrax and your class schedule and help you get on track for admission to Anderson.
Removal: Meet with an advisor by making an appointment through Student Hub or attending drop-in hours.
Apply to Graduate
Students will receive the Apply to Graduate hold when they have ninety (90) or more earned credit hours but have not yet submitted a Graduation Application.
Removal: Complete a Graduation Application. If you need help in determining your Graduation Term or if you want to confirm you are on track for graduation, make an appointment through Student Hub or attending drop-in hours.
Probation
At UNM, a 2.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is required to maintain good academic standing. If your GPA falls below 2.0, you will be placed on academic probation. After two consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA below 2.0, academic suspension can occur. Academic probation allows you to work with a support system to prevent academic suspension in the future. In order to avoid suspension a 2.0 cumulative GPA is required to be removed from probation status or a 2.5 semester GPA to continue on probation for another semester.
Removal: Meet with an advisor by making an appointment through Student Hub or attending drop-in hours. Also complete the online Academic Success Workshop, which will be sent to you if you have a probation hold.
If you have questions about holds, please call our front desk at (505) 277-3290.
