The Student Engagement, Empowerment and Development Center (SEED)
At the Ellis School of Business Leadership, we believe learning should occur everywhere – not just in the classroom.
The Student Engagement, Empowerment and Development (SEED) Center is a space designed by and for business students. It is a place for students to meet, study and share ideas. The SEED hosts workshops and events at the beginning of the term, and during midterms and finals. Students are encouraged to utilize the Center to meet and connect with their classmates.
Living Learning Community
Explore your passions, get involved and make lasting connections. The Business Living Learning Community supports the academic, social, and professional development needs of Lobos as they pursue their academic dreams. Students will be part of a close-knit program that focuses on academic success, cultivates a safe and supportive environment, encourages professional identity, fosters social responsibility, and develops leaders.
Personal and Professional Development Curriculum
You are positioned for success. The Ellis School of Business Leadership has incorporated two 3-credit courses focused on personal and professional development with activities outside of the classroom such as workshops, career fairs, and networking events. These opportunities provide platforms for students to demonstrate the full range of their abilities to potential employers, community leaders and their peers.

Ellis Learning Lab
The Ellis Learning Lab is a free academic support program available to all students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate business classes. We offer free peer-based consultations and tutoring in a range of business classes, both in person and online. Students can work with a peer tutor in person or online, attend review sessions before key exams, and attend prep sessions to refresh their understanding of core ideas in preparation for their coursework. Hello! My name is Antonella, and I was born in New Mexico. I am in my senior year majoring in Accounting. Growing up, I visited my family in Argentina every summer. With Argentine parents, I've always had a hard time feeling like I truly belong here. I found my place at Ellis School of Business Leadership, where I have built long lasting friendships. I am currently in my senior year, working toward a degree in accounting. This university has provided me with countless opportunities to grow both as a student and as a professional. In my free time, I love to crochet, bake, bike and play soccer. After college, my goal is to use my accounting degree while traveling around the world.

Hey, I’m Annette! Born and raised here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, entering my fourth year of my BBA in Marketing here at the Ellis! As a student here at UNM, I have developed my leadership and communication skills through my work. I enjoy finding creative ways to connect with people and help others succeed. After graduation, I hope to earn my master’s degree in Project Management and pursue a career in marketing where I can combine creativity and strategy and build relationships. As well as help local businesses within my community. Outside of school, you'll usually find me at the gym, trying new coffee shops, shopping, or spending time with my family and friends.

Hello, my name is Audriana Gallegos. I am currently in my fourth year, pursuing a BBA with a concentration in Marketing and a Minor in Honors Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts. As a first-generation college student born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I have really enjoyed getting involved on campus, currently serving as Vice President for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) and participating in many other organizations. These leadership roles have helped shape my college experience, allowing me to make a difference on campus and leave UNM better than I found it. I really encourage anyone to get involved at UNM. Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, watching movies, playing video games, and cooking/baking new recipes.

I’m passionate about leadership, marketing, and building meaningful connections within the business community. I’m also involved with ALPFA, where I serve as Vice President of Outreach and help create opportunities for students to connect, grow, and engage with professionals. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, reading, Pilates, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I’m excited to continue growing as a mentor and contributing to the Ellis School of Business community!

Hello, I’m Miguel! Born in Belen, PA, and raised in Campinas, SP, Brazil, I moved to the United States in 2021 to continue my education, completing high school here before starting college at UNM. I am currently pursuing both a B.S. in Biology on the pre-med track and a BBA in Finance. My long-term goal is to build a career that combines my interests in medicine and business, allowing me to make an impact in healthcare while also applying my passion for finance and management. As an international student, I value the experiences and perspectives that come from stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking on new challenges. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, gaming, staying active, spending time with friends, and discovering new experiences.

Hi, I'm Isabella! I'm currently pursuing my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Management. I'm Diné, originally from Mesa, Arizona, and raised in Gallup, New Mexico. I'm passionate about supporting students and fostering positive learning environments. After graduation, I plan to teach secondary mathematics before returning to school to earn a master's degree in Higher Education Administration, with the goal of working in Student Affairs. In my free time, I love trying new drinks from Dutch Bros and local coffee shops, playing volleyball, or spending time with friends doing anything active. I'm excited to be part of the SEED and look forward to contributing to a fun, engaging, and successful academic year!
