Research Participation Program - Department of MIDS
The Department of Marketing, Information and Decision Sciences requires that all students taking MGMT 322 and other marketing courses participate in research. To receive full credit for research participation in your marketing course, you must earn the total number of research participation credits required by your instructor.
Two options are available to earn research credit:
- Lab Research Participation Credit (worth 1 research participation credit) - Participate as a subject in a research study conducted in the Anderson Behavioral Lab.
- Article Review Alternative Assignment Credit (worth 1 research participation credit) - Read a scientific journal article and answer questions about it.
Article Review Research Credit Option Instructions
Your research participation credits can come from any combination of marketing research lab sessions or alternative assignments. In other words, if two research credits are required by your instructor, you can either complete two marketing research lab sessions, submit two alternative assignments or complete one marketing research lab session and submit one alternative assignment to fulfill the course requirement.
It is important to note that alternative assignments are provided for students who choose to not participate in lab sessions, and therefore should not be used to make up for missed lab sessions. Alternative assignments are due by the end of the time period during which the Marketing Research Lab Session it is being substituted for is running. No late submissions will be accepted.
